MobileQA is a software that allows the staff of the production Quality Control to monitor the production line in real time and to register the critical information.

By the use of an industrial PDA, the CQ staff will carry out a series of surveys, prepared and required by the software, and will register the related results.

The system will make a comparison of the surveys carried out with the specific values and will sign, directly to the worker, any out of standards.

All the parameters that are surveyed in production will be exported to a centralized database for the consultation and related reporting.

The complete system is in client/server environment and uses two different data bases that will be synchronized and repeated between them.

On the database server, all the information related to the various products, to their specifications, to the organization of the resources within the company and to the history of the measurements that are reported during time, is included and kept.

On the database client, the information regarding the technical product specifications and the policy of data access are duplicated, as long as necessary.

The QC staff, before starting their working shift, carry out the synchronization of their industrial PDA with the server as to report locally any modifications to the product specifications. The software on the industrial PDA supplies to the operator a guide on the surveys that have to be carry out during the working shift and will allow the registration of data.

The operator has always available the specification of the measurement to measure and the system will ask for confirmation of the data in case of out of standard. This control allows to avoid the errors of filling in the data.

At the end of the working shift, the QC operator will carry out a new synchronization with the server in order to report all the new information into the server. At the end of the synchronization, the data is immediately available, in network, for the authorized personnel.

The server of the system is build up by an interface, to be installed on the network pc’s, that allows to carry out all the operations made by the industrial PDA (in order to enable the upload of the history or the keeping of the found data), besides a series of research and statistical prints.
Through the server it is also possible to carry out the maintenance of the specifications and to update any new products or users.

The system of policy allows to define the users and the areas of the program to which they have access. In this way it is possible to assign the maintenance or consultation of the data based on the access profiles.

With MobileQA it is possible:

• To notice immediately the out of standards and to take the necessary steps directly on the product line;
• To control the raw material of each supplier and its related productivity;
• To optimize, by means of the history of data and statistics, any extra consumption of the raw materials on the production line;
• To eliminate the paper during the process of monitoring the quality.
